For today’s product review I will be looking at the Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo from Herbal Essences.
As a curly girl, trying a dry shampoo can be disastrous. The residue from the spray can actually worsen frizz by sucking away all the moisture. It also has the potential to make your hair look dirty from all the built up residue on the scalp.
For this dry shampoo, it accomplishes staying away from those bad occurrences. It does a wonderful job of sucking the greasy second or third day look out of your hair. By the end of the day, my hair still looks fresh and clean.
However, the shampoo is meant to be brushed through your hair, and as a curly girl we all know that is impossible. Sometimes the spray leaves a grey tint wherever applied. Luckily, this can be easily fixed by bending over and gently massaging the scalp.
The only downside is it feels heavy on your hair. Your hair probably won’t feel as fresh and clean as it looks. It doesn’t look heavy, but by the next morning you might feel the need to wash your hair (which is probably how it is with all other dry shampoos). However, when you run your fingers through, your hand doesn’t feel as greasy as it was before.
Best of all, it makes your hair smell fresh. This is one of the hardest things to find in dry shampoo. Most of them don’t come scented and your hair won’t smell rejuvenated. This dry shampoo packs a rose scented punch and hides any hint of a lazy hair day. Be careful not to spray too much though, it could take your breath away.
Overall, this dry shampoo does what it is supposed to do plus a more. It costs only around $4.47 at Walmart and I would definitely recommend it for everyone. I’m not big on dry shampoo, but if I ever feel the need to freshen up a bit, Herbal Essence’s Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo is my go-to product.
